girls gone to jail

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

When the folks from Girls Gone Wild — the media franchise built upon the bare chests of drunken co-eds with low inhibitions and even lower self-esteem — rolled into Yulee in their less-than-inconspicuous den of iniquity on wheels last week, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when residents of the socially conservative hamlet took note. After being tipped off by the locals, Nassau County Sheriffs officers staged an undercover sting at The Mill — the Yulee sports bar-slash-nightclub that hosted Girls Gone Wild  — arresting 16 individuals including bar employees, Girls Gone Wild staff members and seven women who participated in the boob-a-thon, exposing themselves and allowing men to spray paint their breasts.

Thesmokinggun.com caught wind of the bust and posted mug shots of all seven women (ranging in age from 18-29), and, well, we’ll just let you take a look at the pick of Yulee’s litter for yourselves …

the old switcheroo

Two days ago, Channel 4 aired a story criticizing the utter lack of diversity in Finance Committee appointments. Noting that the committee will oversee some of the most sweeping changes in city budget history, the report noted that Council Prez. Richard Clark had appointed not a single woman or minority.

Clark told Ch. 4 “I did not take any of that in account [when making appointments]. I don’t look at race or sex when I make appointments. I put people with skill sets where they want to be.”

But this morning, Clark sent out a press release announcing he was “expand[ing] the Finance Committee to a nine-member standing committee.”

As it happens, the two new members to the formerly-seven-member board are both African-American, and one’s a woman: Denise Lee and Johnny Gaffney.

reason to cheer

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

At a special meeting today, the Florida High School Athletic Association board voted unanimously to rescind Policy 6, which cut funding to all public high school sports except boys football and competitive cheerleading.

The decision comes in response to a lawsuit filed by a Jacksonville-based group called Florida Parents for Athletic Equity, which noted that the cuts disproportionately affected girls, and therefore violated “federal constitutional and statutory law as well as state anti-discrimination laws.”

The Dept. of Justice filed a brief in support of plaintiffs’ position, saying that Policy 6 violated Title IX, the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and FEEA — a fact that doubless motivated the FHSAA in their vote today.

Congratulations to local attorneys Wayne Hogan, Nancy Hogshead-Makar, Leslie Goller and David Baron, who brought the suit, for their victory for gender equity.

UNIQUE GRADUATION GIFTS

Breast Jobs Rank Number One As The Best Graduation Gifts For Girls

As the bell rings and school lets out many high school grads are headed to the doctor’s office to recoup their graduation present.

Breast enlargements have become the most popular graduation gift in resent times, even surpassing requests for a car, as young women use the summer vacation period to go under the knife before college.

No longer are females requesting expensive jewelry, European summer vacations, or other trinkets to commemorate the completion of school. They instead wish to fulfill a long term dream of undergoing a breast augmentation and feeling more self confident.

Breast augmentation surgery is one of the most sought after cosmetic enhancements globally. Breasts are one of the only parts of the female physique which do not allow for natural improvement, shape or enhancement. You can’t change the size with diet or exercise and there is only so much you can achieve with a push-up-bra, but a breast augmentation gives a woman the chest she has always desired.

Cosmetic surgeon, Dr Lloyd Landsman, has experienced this growing trend first hand at his New York clinic.

“I have definitely had more requests for breast graduation gifts of late. This is nothing new but this type of procedures is becoming more popular among this age bracket. In the 1990’s the big thing was nose jobs, now it is breast augmentations. It’s been especially busy now that school has just let out for the summer. This is something young ladies have put a lot of thought into and discussed with their parents and then, after careful consideration, parents agree to pay for the surgery as a graduation present.”

Dr Landsman is happy to be interviewed and provide his expert medical opinion on this topic.
